What We Believe

We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible and inerrant Word of God. Every word was given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is therefore profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. The Scripture is our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal, co-eternal Persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each Person is distinct yet united in one divine nature, essence and purpose. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things — holy, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and worthy of all worship, honour and praise.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God — fully divine and fully human — born of the Virgin Mary, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of all humanity, rose bodily from the dead on the third day, and ascended to the right hand of the Father. He is the only Saviour and Lord, and He will return in power and glory.

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God — with dignity, purpose and the capacity for relationship with Him. Through deliberate disobedience, Adam and Eve fell from that state, bringing sin, spiritual death and corruption into the human race. As a result, all people are born with a sinful nature, are spiritually separated from God, and stand in need of redemption through Jesus Christ alone.

We believe that salvation — the forgiveness of sins, justification before God, and the gift of eternal life — is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It cannot be earned by human merit or good works, but is received freely through genuine repentance and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.

We believe in the Holy Spirit — the third Person of the Trinity — who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment; who regenerates the believing heart at salvation; who indwells every believer as a seal and guarantee of their inheritance; and who empowers the Church for worship, witness and service. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience distinct from and subsequent to salvation, accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and enabling believers to live and minister supernaturally for the glory of God.

We believe in the reality of Satan as a personal spiritual being — a fallen angel who is the great adversary of God and of all who follow Him. We believe in eternal judgment: those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God, while Satan, his angels, and all who die in unbelief will be consigned to the lake of fire. This is a solemn truth that compels us to proclaim the gospel with urgency.

We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ — comprising all true believers across every time and nation. It is universal in scope and expressed locally as Spirit-filled, Bible-based communities. We believe the local church is God's primary vehicle for worship, discipleship, fellowship and the advancement of His Kingdom on earth. It is called to be self-governing, self-supporting and self-propagating in fulfilment of the Great Commission.

We believe that every believer in Jesus Christ has direct and immediate access to God through Christ our Great High Priest — without the need for any human mediator. Every member of the body of Christ is called, gifted and equipped to serve God, intercede for others, and fulfil a unique and vital role in the life of the Church and the mission of God in the world.

We believe in water baptism by immersion as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is an outward public declaration of an inward transformation — the new believer identifying with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is an act of obedience, faith and witness, administered to those who have personally received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

We believe in the Lord's Supper (Communion) as a sacred ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ on the night of His betrayal. The bread represents His body broken for us, and the cup represents His blood shed for the remission of sins. It is to be received regularly in faith, with self-examination, in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice — and as a proclamation of His death until He returns.

We believe that tithing — giving one tenth of our income to God — is a scriptural principle that honours God as the source of all we have, and sustains the ministry of the local church. We also believe in generous, cheerful freewill offerings as an act of worship, faith and partnership with God in His redemptive mission in the world.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead — both the just and the unjust. Those who have placed their faith in Christ will be raised to eternal life and glory; those who have rejected Him will be raised to face the final judgment. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the guarantee and foundation of our hope — death has been defeated, and life in Christ is eternal.

We believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This "Blessed Hope" is a foundational truth of the Christian faith — calling every believer to holy living, faithful witness, joyful perseverance and eager expectation. His return will mark the consummation of all things and the final establishment of His eternal Kingdom.
